REGISTER FOR THE "PLANNING FOR VISION 2020 SHORT COURSE", 7 – 11 July 2008
London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM), 7 –11 July 2008

This five day course is aimed primarily at ophthalmologists and eye health programme managers involved in the drive to eradicate all treatable blindness globally by the year 2020. 

The main aim of the workshop is to familiarise participants with the goals and objectives of VISION 2020: the Right to Sight and the planning principles involved in establishing community eye health programmes.

The International Centre for Eye Health (ICEH) carries out research and education activities to improve eye health and eliminate avoidable blindness, with a focus on low income populations.

Research

At ICEH we conduct research into prevention and treatment of the major causes of blindness and work with other organizations involved in the prevention of blindness.

Education

Education in community eye health - both in and outside the UK - is a major role of ICEH.

As part of its educational work ICEH develops and disseminates practical, up-to-date resources for teaching and learning community eye health.
